Philosophy

It is the philosophy of the Methodist Preschool
that early childhood should be a time of fun,
warmth, security, exploration and discovery.  
Preschool children are creative and receptive.  
The staff tries to encourage these qualities in the
children who attend.

Curriculum

Planned within the framework of
philosophy and purpose the
Methodist Preschool’s curriculum
includes sharing and conversation
time, stories, songs and finger
plays, creative art activities, games
and large muscle activities, field
trips throughout the community,
food preparation, science and
nature activities, exposure to
shapes, colors, numbers and letters
and celebration of birthdays and
holidays.   A supplemental music
and movement program is offered
and includes seasonal and theme-
related songs, creative movement
and musical instruments.
